The overall capacity of the wind farms is 44.7MW.
Five Polish wind farms have received more than €53 million in finance from European Energy.
The farms have a combined capacity of 44.7MW, and the parks’ development began in 2021.
The parks’ COD is planned to be in the first half of 2022.
“We are pleased to have reached another milestone in Poland with the financial closing of our first project financing on five wind farms,” said European Energy executive vice president Jens-Peter Zink.
“We look forward to repeating this type of successful financing in the future, with a considerable pipeline of wind and solar assets acquired across Poland in our portfolio.”
European Energy established a Warsaw office in 2021 and currently has a development pipeline in Poland of over 2GW, which includes both solar and wind projects.
In 2040, Poland’s Polish Energy Policy, PEP2040, plans to attain a solar installed energy capacity of roughly 5-7 GW, while offshore wind energy capacity will be over 11 GW.
In 2030, the country wants renewable energy to account for no less than 32% of total national power consumption.
Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (NORD/LB) and EKF Denmark’s Export Credit Agency are providing funding (EKF).
Watson Farley & Williams assisted them with the finance.
