In the third quarter, Boskalis’ offshore orders decreased

New contracts, according to the company, were mostly in the services sector, such as transportation, subsea, and surveying.

In the third quarter of 2021, offshore wind projects in Taiwan and Europe contributed considerably to revenue for Boskalis, although the offshore energy segment’s order book declined compared to mid-2021, the business noted in its trade results.

Heavy transport vessel utilization was somewhat lower than in the first half of the year, according to Boskalis, while the remainder of the fleet — diving support, crane, survey, cable laying, and fall pipe boats – was better utilized.

The services activities – transportation, subsea services, and survey – accounted for the majority of new contract awards during the quarter.

Marine Transport and Services contributed “substantially” to the services cluster, while Subsea Services maintained its outstanding performance from the first half of the year, thanks in part to the integration of Rever Offshore, the business said.

Boskalis’ order book stood at €5.1 billion at the end of September, down from a high of €6.2 billion at the end of June.

In the third quarter, contracts totaling over €0.3 billion were acquired.

According to the company, the EBITDA level in the second half of the year will be in line with the €226 million recorded in the first half, barring unforeseen occurrences.
