Orsted and Siemens Gamesa are investigating the Borssele turbine fire

The wind farm owner claims that no technicians were present when the issue occurred.

At the Borssele 1 and 2 offshore wind farms off the coast of the Netherlands, Orsted has reported a malfunction and fire in the nacelle of one of its turbines.

No personnel were present when the fire started, and no one was hurt, according to Orsted.

Siemens Gamesa, the turbine maker, is working closely with Orsted to determine the reason of the breakdown.

According to Orsted, the broken turbine is being disassembled to see which sections may be reused.

With the exception of the broken turbine and two other turbines that are directly connected to it, the remaining 93 turbines of Borssele 1 and 2 indicate no deviations, and the wind farm will continue to operate.

Orsted is striving to get these two turbines back online as quickly as possible, as they have incurred no damage and indicate no deviations.
