In Spain, a Finnish fund has purchased 50MW of solar power

Taaleri SolarWind 2 has acquired the Niebla project, which is located 70 kilometers west of Seville.

The 50MW Niebla solar farm in Spain has been purchased by the Finnish-owned Taaleri SolarWind 2 fund.

The ready-to-build project may be found in the Andalusia town of San Juan del Puerto, around 70 kilometers west of Seville.

Electricity production will be around 107 gigawatt-hours per year.

The factory is projected to be completely operational in the third quarter of 2022, with construction beginning in December.

Valfortec, a Spanish company, collaborated with Taaleri Energia to create Niebla.

The majority of the electricity produced is managed by Centrica Energy Trading under a long-term financial power purchase agreement.

Banco Sabadell will provide project financing, with the loan meeting the Green Loan Principles of the Loan Market Association.

“We are quite delighted with this investment,” said Petri Isotalus, investment director at Taaleri Energia. Spain has abundant solar resources and ambitious goals to increase the percentage of solar-generated electricity on the grid.

“We have been slowly growing our market understanding and developer network over the past three years, operating out of our Madrid office, and we anticipate to continue to be an active investor in Spanish solar projects.”
