TetraSpar demo sets sail for Norwegian test site

The TetraSpar floating offshore wind demonstration turbine has left the port of Grenaa in Denmark on its journey to a test site off the coast of Norway.

Stiesdal Offshore Technology said the turbine will in be installed at the METcentre test site off Karmoy near Stavanger.

It will be connected to the pre-installed mooring system in a water depth of about 200 metres.

The demo is being developed by a consortium of Shell, RWE and Tepco, as well as Stiesdal.
